In her brief 28 years on this planet, Jennifer Abubakar Abena has made her existence a significant one. Together with her father Magudo, Jennifer runs her charity that works to raise funds for their region in Africa.

The lack of basic necessities is a major problem that has plagued their area since time immemorial. Potable water is nonexistent to begin with, hospitals are either understaffed or undersupplied, and schools are a mere concept. Add that to corrupt police force officials and local gangs turning on each other, you get a picture of utter hopelessness.

That did not stop Jennifer Abubakar from aiming high. Her goal is to gradually nip all forms of corruption from the roots. She also intends to educate the children in the village with the help of her charity which already has over $10,000 worth of funds.

Her hard work has earned quite a following. She has become the local goto person in times of need. Due to Jennifer’s selfless efforts, their hospital will soon think of scarcity as a thing of the past. The availability of clean water helped control bacterial diseases that will likely spread within the population.

For Jennifer, every day is a new chance for hope. She will carry on with the fight until all the problems are solved and her village can live a normal life. We all need to take after Jennifer and nurture our own little Africa. While we are on the opposite side of the globe, enjoying the exact opposite of their situation, it is time for us to do our part in trying to make the world an equal place for all mankind.
